Hark tui. Kemudian aku search 'gerhana bulan' baru la keluar banyak berita pasal gerhana bulan malam tadi. Katanya 18 tahun sekali terjadi gerhana bulan partial macam ni, dan tahun ni 2 kali kita dapat tengok, yaitu semalam dan pada 21 Disember 2010.
Reminiscing my childhood is one of my favourite activities. I was perfectly happy as a child and I'd swear to God if there is any possibility, I would do anything in my power to go back to my childhood.I grew up in Kuala Ibai, a small village in Kuala Terengganu. The village wasn't that well known 20 years ago, but I think it has changed a lot since then. If people ask me where Kuala Ibai is, my answer would always be; "Ala Masjid Terapung yang warne putih tu kat Kole Ibai la." =P Ok lah takde kaitan antara Kuala Ibai dengan apa aku nak bebel lepas ni sebenarnye.
Budak-budak dulu tak sama dengan budak sekarang. I grew up in those times when kids used to enjoy playing Barbie and Tamiya cars as much as they enjoyed playing congkak and batu seremban.
Congkak is (or should I say 'was') known as one of our famous traditional games that can be played by 2 people. This game used to be my family’s favourite game. We would gather in the living room during evenings, either to play or just to watch enthusiastically. There were two competitors that I hate most, my father, who used to cheat on us by grabbing more guli than he should, full in his big hands which was hardly noticed by anyone until we realized in the end how he could win the game so easily. The other person was Dik Wan, because me and him would always end up baling guli to each other's face even before we finished the game, and such endings didn’t only occurred when we play congkak but pretty much through all other games we played together.
And I still remember, in my primary school, there was at least one papan congkak provided in each classroom for kids to play during their free times. I wonder if kids nowadays still have interest to play congkak, at all?
Budak-budak zaman sekarang, perghh you name it, Playstation? PSP? Xbox? Gameboy? Well I played Nintendo too when I was a kid. But now that I’ve grown up, I don’t appreciate it as much as I appreciate all the fun I had with my family and friends while playing congkak, batu seremban, galah panjang, layang-layang dan lain2.
Call me makcik ketinggalan zaman, or minah outdated, or a traditional freak, I don't care but I really do think that our traditional games are cool. Playstation, it keeps changing with time, it reforms about 10 times in a decade, whereas congkak, it stays exactly in the same form forever. See? I told you it's cool. =P
P/S: Rindu pulak nak main congkak.
Hari ni cuti, aku akhirnya ada masa untuk bersantai-santai di rumah sambil melayan kucing-kucing aku yang sejak akhir-akhir ini sudah kurang perhatian dari aku.
