Tak Senonoh Punya Budak

An absurd phenomenon as you can see.

Oh believe me aku tak pernah ajar si hitam ni berkelakuan tidak senonoh seperti ini.

He has grown bigger than his mother but I never thought that he would still thirst for his mother's milk.

The last time I saw him suckling Mon's milk was 5 months ago.
Mon is currently pregnant and is actively producing milk, and it seems that Luna is enjoying this privilege very much.

This is actually not too strange to me.

I have a friend, who had his mother to breastfeed him until he turned seven! Considered of how difficult it could be when his son got into a primary school, this poor mother finally had to bring him to see a pak bomoh in order to detach him from suckling her nipples.

LOL. Tak senonoh punya budak!

Craving

Saya tengah homesick dan sangat-sangat mengidam nak makan KFC Malaysia.

Respon kamu: "Ek ele KFC pun nak mengidam ke. Gila low taste!"

Ye, saya memang jakun. Saya orang kampung. Saya tak kenal itu Nando's, Chillis, Victoria Station.

Saya cuma mengidam KFC. Tolon. Saya nak balik Malaysia. Tolonnn!!

Kamu nak tau kenapa?

Tapi gambar2 ni sedang membuat hati saya berdebar-debar dub dab dub dab.

Now YOU tell me, if I am being jakun to crave for a dinner plate of KFC original chicken with whipped potato and coleslaw!

Maal Hijrah

Selamat menyambut maal hijrah kamu semua, no matter how you actually celebrate this mulia day.

Sombong, berlagak bagus, kasar. Tak ada kesopanan langsung. Saya tahan je mulut ni daripada mencarut kat diorang. Susah betul dugaan tu. (Eh saya bukan jenis mencarut gila-gila jugak kat luar. Dalam blog je tunjuk otai. =P)

Kalau pasal carut, saya rasa carut bahasa Melayu lagi hardcore dari Mat Saleh. Saya tak boleh nak sebut pun carutan2 Melayu. Terlalu kasar bagi saya. Kalau omputih punya, mungkin terpengaruh dengan filem2, novel2 barat. Maaf lah atas ketidaksenonohan saya kadang2.

Kaabah, the most beautiful place on earth.

Saya teringin nak pergi sana sekali atau banyak kali lagi. Masa hari terakhir tinggalkan Mekah hari tu, saya tak dapat berhenti nangis, tak tau kenapa. Kalau waktu tu kali terakhir rezeki saya untuk ke sana, kamu semua yang sayang saya, jangan lupa doakan saya depan kaabah ya.

Sweet Escape

Today I went to the spa with Aliaa, as usual like every other months. Only this time I brought my camera along. Gian nak snap gambar.

We are the loyal customers of Martha Tilaar Spa. It's one of the best spa in Indonesia, so they say. Nonetheless I think it's not much different from any other spa. I love its pleasant aroma, its soothing music, and its quiet, relaxing, low lighting environment. And the staff are all very friendly.

When I first started going to spa, I already decided to make it a routine because I felt much better afterwards. It's the only place in this poo poo land that can drain my stress away. Well at least for a little while.

When I compared the amount of time and money I spent to the result I got, I think it was worth it. It was a brief escape from a hectic life in Surabaya. (hectic la sangat kan.)

But yesterday was a bit different. As usual I was brought to a room by the massage therapist. As I entered the room, I heard voices of kids, from the room adjacent to mine. What the..? How can there be children in a spa?

I asked the masseuse, she told me that the children who were noisily playing in the bathtub, were having a full blast of their time while waiting for their mother, who was also enjoying every second of her time being massaged in the room right next to mine. And there I was, stood still for a little while after the Mbak handed me the towel and left me alone to undress. I couldn't stop thinking that my day would be spoiled by those damn kids.

But I was wrong. I mean not totally wrong lah, cause I still blame the mother for bringing her children to spa. For fuck sake, had she ever thought that her kids might disturb other people who were all coming to spa just to get relaxed and to escape from the deafening noise of their kids at home? I never have kids, but I know lah. Even Lynette in Desperate Housewives wouldn't bring her naughty kids to spa, no matter how desperate or selfish she has been!

Ok back to why I said I was wrong to think that my day would be spoiled by those kids-next-door. Be that as it may, as soon as the masseuse performed the massage on my back, I was indeed relieved and surprised that I found myself not even bothered by those children who were still happily singing the annoying song 'Kok Gitu Sih'. I was too busy to force my mind to be quiet and concentrate on the spa treatment at hand. And yet it had finished as another fulfilling spa experience. I still felt as rejuvenated and pampered as all the previous spa experiences. =)

Of course I was thankful that those kids didn't sing the 'Ketahuan' or 'Kepompong' songs cause if they did, I would instantly have my half-naked body running to their room and God knows what would happen next.

So DON'T bring your children to spa. It's one of the spa etiquette! One of human's common sense indeed. No surprise actually, people here are mostly lack of common sense.

Pleasant aroma, calming sound.

Martha Tilaar Spa, Surabaya
Waiting for the Mbak masseuse.

The room. They serve a cup of ginger tea after I finished berendam. Love it.

_MG_1551

Just some information about this spa. They provide many kinds of treatments such as body treatments, facial or hair spa. But what I need most to pamper myself every month is Mandi Susu. (I had tried the Mandi Bunga too, and it was really nice. I love flowers! But I don't know why the Mbak laughed at me when I said I want to do Mandi Bunga. So it was just once.) The price depends on which treatment you want, Mandi Susu costs Rp200000 (about RM70). I think that's cheap compared to Malaysia right? At last! There's actually one good thing about being here! ;-P

Hairy Companions

Meet my cats, my furry little friends in Surabaya.

Leo
Bought him when he was 2months old.
He is now 2-years-old.
He loves attention and he's very friendly with everyone.
He had inherited the 'taik mata' gene from his mother. Cannot do anything about it.
He's a good listener, a rare quality that we find in males/men.

Leo

Mon
First cat that I bought here.
She has captured my heart the first moment I met her, she was trying to grab my fingers with her cute little paws from inside the cage.
Not so friendly with strangers.
She has some weird obsession with the fans at my house. Have no idea why.
And now she's pregnant again, for the third time.

This is, Mon again..

Mon

Mon's weird behaviour

Luna
This nigga fella here is a product of Mon and Leo's successful conception.
Their first son, and the healthiest among the 5 that were delivered by Mon.
Love his bushy tail, and his shiny fur.
Not so familiar with strangers either. I think that's a typical character of a black cat.
And he's so naughty, he likes to bite my toes.

Love them all. Muaxx.

Orang Busuk

Aku pernah mengadu masalah aku pasal orang2 kat sekeliling aku dengan ayah.

Ayah kata, "Irah, dalam hidup ni memang kita akan sentiasa lalui proses mengenal manusia. Tapi Irah ingat pesan ayah sokmo, do to others as what you want them to do to you."

Aku ni tak la baik mana, tapi aku rasa aku dah cukup respect orang2 sekeliling aku. Tak pernah aku layan orang macam aku layan binatang. Mak ayah aku tak ajar aku jadi macam tu.

Cuma kat sini aku nak buat kesimpulan.

Orang busuk.

Both literally and.. figuratively.

Orang busuk macam Mohinder Suresh memang confirm aku tak boleh tahan. Tapi aku rasa Shah Rukh Khan tak busuk. Sebab dia pakai minyak wangi Polo. Salman Khan pun tak busuk, sebab dia suka tukar seluar tiap2 hari, hari ni seluar oren, esok merah, lusa hijau.

Busuk ni penyakit aku rasa.

Masalahnya kadang-kadang orang busuk diorang tak sedar diorang busuk.

Diorang sembur perfume 360 darjah kat badan diorang, diorang rasa dah wangi.

Kau busuk. Please do something about it."

Tapi diorang tak dapat terima. Diorang kata diorang dah wangi.

Kalau aku bau busuk, tolonglah kau orang cakap kat aku terus terang. Aku sumpah tak kisah! Boleh aku pergi beli sabun kristal buat sapu ketiak aku. Dulu ada sorang ustazah sekolah aku promote, kata benda tu berkesan. Kalau kau busuk, aci cuba try test benda tu.

Kat sekolah setiap awal tahun masa budak2 form 1 baru daftar sekolah, surau sekolah aku kalau masa maghrib isyak, ya ampun. KEPAM!

Masing2 pakai telekung but I can't imagine what's underneath.

Naik form 2 baru kurang sedikit bau-bauan. Sebab masing2 dah start tunjuk macho selempang tudung pergi prep. Better ventilation.

Aku tak kutuk orang pakai tudung labuh, tapi kalau kau pakai tudung labuh, kau kena jaga hygiene extra la. Jangan comot sana comot sini. Ketiak kena tip top.

Ya, busuk memang penyakit.

Busuk hati pun sama.

Kat STF aku jarang jumpa orang2 busuk macam sekarang. Kepam tu ada la, tapi hati diorang wangi. Tak ada hasad dengki, tak ada riak takabur, tak ada rasa nak jatuhkan orang lain.

Keluar sekolah macam2 jenis orang aku jumpa. Ye ayah, ni memang proses mengenal manusia.

Tapi Irah tak tahan dengan orang busuk.

Aku kalau down, susah nak up balik.

Orang-orang busuk ni macam tahu je kelemahan aku. Aku kalau down, aku nangis, aku tidur macam baby, aku tak boleh buat apa.

Aku tak suka kena aniaya. Every time aku kena aniaya, hati aku jadi makin keras. Makin kering.
Bila hati kering, aku jadi kejam. Aku susah nak percaya orang. Macam Hulk. (Orang Indon panggil Huluk.)

Aku tak kacau hidup kau, kau jangan nak kacau hidup aku.

Hi guys. My name is Irah, and I'm addicted to...

Heroes
It gets more complicated with each new season. And I think we all were never clever enough to piece it together. Never really knew who were villains and who were heroes.
I love Nathan Petrelli. I used to have this fantasy of having a macho boyfriend who can fly.
Sylar is just intolerably sexy! Enough said.
Hiro Nakamura with his comical character has never failed to amuse me.
Love all the characters, except Dr. Suresh. Not a racist, but I bet he smells bad!

If I have a super power, I want to be able to see the future like Hiro. Not planning to save the world though. I just thought that if I have that kind of power, it would help me best at making some decisions in my life. (bad at making decisions is one of the many defects in me.*sigh*)
Or the ability to walk through walls! Wow. Walking through walls…How cool is that?

House
This is the only medical-based tv show that I'm attracted to watch, besides E.R masa kecik2 dulu. Sanggup skip kelas dan duduk rumah habiskan one stack of House dvds. season 1 that was introduced by Kak Na, my sister. Di kala orang lain pergi kelas, saya di rumah sambil menyedapkan hati, 'Takpe, tengok House pun sama macam pergi kuliah jugak, only more interesting, and more informative, and more effective.'

Desperate Housewives
Love their honest friendship in Wisteria Lane. Each season comes with new twisted mysteries that were always unpredictable. Show ni tak pernah boring. Not like Heroes or Prison Break, there were moments when you decided not to follow the next episodes anymore cause it's bullshit and kind of draggy. Desperate Housewives is light, yet very entertaining.

Lipstick Jungle
Read.my.lips. Be, all that you can be. Make a difference, give your dreams to me~
Sexy theme song! Makes me feel like walking in heels and looking confidently sexy. These three women are really inspiring. Wish I could be like one of them. Successful, confident, voluptuous, and certainly not a bimbo like Memey Suhaiza.

Prison Break
This one sudah berapa kali nekad tak mau tengok tapi sampai sekarang masih tercongok mengadap Scofield everytime keluar episod baru. Dangg! It gets more complicated and I got exhausted everytime I watched it. And the fact that I hate Sara Tancredi doesn't stop me from watching this show. Sakit medula oblongata ku setelah menengok Prison Break. Haih.

What else am I currently addicted to ehh?
Oh yeah..

Farley's Rusk

Ok before you say anything, I want to state the obvious reasons why I'm addicted to this biscuits.

1. It's for infants persons of 6months and above, and I am obviously qualified for that.
2. It contains 7 vitamins and minerals. Tengok kotak tu haa kalau tak caye.
3. It contains DHA for brain development until the age of 2 years old.
4. It contains FOS to promote a good digestive system.

Why would I miss something like this?
Thanks to mak, sebab tak pernah bagi Irah curi biskut ni masa Dikma kecik. Now I'm turning into a Farley's monster!

Poo Poo Land

Malam tadi aku terkejut tengok Ashraf Sinclair berlakon sinetron Indonesia.

Geli ketiak aku tengok. (Nasib baik tak garu masa tu jugak sebab kawan aku ada kat sebelah.)

Apa lagi bila dengar dia cakap Indonesia jauh lagi fasih dari aku yang dah 3 setengah tahun kat sini.

I don't know the right words to describe how I feel about him.

Yang aku tahu... Aku menyampah tengok dia...

Dengar cerita sampai jawab soalan wartawan Malaysia pun pakai bahasa Indon.

Apa barang weh?

Ikut bini macam kerbau kena cucuk... Eh apa tah peribahasa tu. Aku lupa.

Entah2 aku balik Malaysia pun speaking Larndan! Bloody hell~ (dengan gaya paling gedik pernah aku buat seumur hidup aku.)

So budak study kat negara2 sana yang cultural shock aku takmau komen banyak2 lah.

Tapi ni.. Indonesia. Negara serumpun je dengan kita, only less developed. Less segala-galanya.

Apa yang jakun sangat Ashraf kat sini.

Maybe sebab dia lagi famous kat sini pasal kahwin dengan Bunga garik. Sebab tu sanggup jadi kerbau kena cucuk apa tah tu. (Seriously aku lupa, kena cucuk apa ha? )

Jumpa sorang abang ni, orang KL, tapi kerja kat sini.

Dia dengan awek Indon dia.

Aku kalau jumpa orang Malaysia jadi overexcited, terus ajak bukak forum kutuk 'poo poo land' ni on the spot. Joyah spot pun Joyah spot la. Aku tak kira aku seronok jugak. Jumpa pulak kat theme park yang terpencil tu. Ingatkan kita orang je budak2 Malaysia sesat situ.

Tapi ternyata, aku syok sekor bila masuk bab nak kutuk poo poo land.

Aku tanye dia, "Dah lama ke tak balik cuti?"

"Lama gak laa.."

"Wah..Tak rindu nasi kandar ke?" -Aku tak tau kenapa aku tanya specific nasi kandar, padahal boleh je sebut nasi lemak yang lagi famous kat Malaysia nun. Mungkin sebab dia asal dari Kampung Pandan, tempat aku selalu gi makan nasi kandaq kari kepala ikan dengan family aku (Gulpp..).

"Tak pun.." dia geleng kepala.

Sial kau tak rindu???

Tanpa sedar, atau sebenarnya pura-pura tak sedar, aku terkasi dia fuck-you-face aku yang kurang menawan.

Aku turned off. Aku memang anti.

Hoi kawan2 kat oversea! Kita semua wajib rindu nasi kandar ok!

Mana hangpa nak caghi nasi kandaq tu kalu bukan kat Malaysia hah? (eh eh where did that came from?)

Sini apa je kau makan. Tempe tauhu tempe tauhu. Last2 muka pun macam tempe. Tak percaya? Cuba tengok muka aku betul2, confirm korang jerit kegedikan, "Wuii Koyan.. Tempe gila muka ko!".

Aku sayang Malaysia.

Even kalau aku dapat rampas balak handsome macam Christian Sugiono dari Titi Kamal pun, aku tetap sayang Malaysia.

Walaupun aku tak ingat peribahasa kerbau cucuk tadi, aku tetap sayang Malaysia.

Walaupun aku sebenarnya suka gila tempe, aku tetap sayang Malaysia.

I do understand that people change. Aku tak kisah. Go change all the way you want!
But don't you ever forget your roots. Keep that one close to your heart where ever you go. You are not standing upon a secure ground like where you are right now, if it isn't your roots.

Hehe. Korang rasa aku boleh jadi Barack Obama Malaysia tak?

Oh shit. Bab garu ketiak tu tak lepas kot. Obama doesn't do that.

Jomblo

These are just a few of countless reality shows here in Indonesia.

Cinta Lama Bersemi Kembali (CLBK)

Reality show ni pasal ex-bf yang struggle nak dapatkan balik ex-gf dia.
Contohnya, si Jenin datang ke krew CLBK utk dapatkan bantuan untuk rujuk balik dgn ex-gf dia. First, dia kena buat aksi bodoh as to prove that he would do anything to get his ex-gf’s attention again.
Tapi depends on Joyah la nak jumpa balik laki tu ataupun tidak.
Kalau Joyah tu tough girl macam aku, huh, jangan harap.
Kalau Joyah ni betina lembik, lepas tu dia setuju la nak keluar dengan Jenin. Jenin pujuk dengan ayat2 manis, last2 sangkut balik.

Kontak Jodoh

Ini show memang… unbelievable lah I tell you. Aku memang tak sangka banyak betul desperado kat luar nun. Show ni sape nak masuk akan bagitau dulu ciri-ciri laki or perempuan idaman yang diorang nak. 5 men and 5 women, mereka dipertemukan kat satu location shooting. Pasangan masing2 dah ditetapkan. Diorang pun date, amazingly tak sampai sehari dah belai2 rambut lah kiss2 dahi lah.
At the end of the day, diorang akan tengok jodoh atau tak dengan menekan tombol cinta (God! I can even memorise the name of the stupid buzzer!). Kalau dua2 orang tekan buzzer tu maknanya jodoh, kalau one of them tak tekan, maknanya tak jodoh. Cool huh?

Pacar Pertama

This one is more like CLBK, bezanya cuma yang ni harus first love. They set a date, go out somewhere, spend the day berdua, and finally the boy will ask the girl to be his girlfriend again, like old times. This one is a piece of shit too. Could immediately tell that it's not a reality at all. Total fake! Pffft!

Playboy Kabel

This is the only show that I managed to love because only this one looks real. Others all bullshit. Wish we had this kind of show in Malaysia. Ada 4 sekawan, kerja diorang kantoikan playboy2 kapak kat Indonesia.

I was just wondering lah, why are they giving soooo much effort to get a boyfriend/girlfriend. It’s like one of their culture here. Being single is like a failure to them. Being so desperate is like a trend of their life. Having a boyfriend is like having some cool accessories for them to show off, even if the accessories were not cool at all .

When I talked to my fellow Indonesian friends, the topic that came out has always been about ‘pacar’.

“Ira, pacar mu di Malaysia atau Indonesia?” –Is your boyfriend here or is he in Malaysia?

“Aku gak punya pacar.” – I don’t have a boyfriend.

“Bohong kamu!!” –Bullshit!

“ Ya benerr.. Ngapain juga aku bohong.” – Yeah it’s fucking true. Why the fuck would I lie about that.

“Loh.. Jadi kamu jomblo? Gak lulus ujian kamu nanti!” – Are you for real?? Betcha won’t pass your exams!”

(W.T.F??) –(What.the.fuck??)

Yeah, I know lah she was just kidding, but still… what the fuck??

Well.. Of course I did not dare to provoke her that I’ll pass my exams with flying colors just to protest her foolish statement. But what I'm sure is even if I didn’t pass my exams, the fact that I’m single is definitely not a reason I should put the blame on. I was lazy like a pig, so blame the pig lahh!

And I've never perceive the idea of being in a relationship would make you forget your commitment to your study, because sometimes without you realizing,
just by the presence of him by your side is enough to motivate you to focus on your future and studies. Ain't that true? Hmm.. Ironically if any ugly battle occurs in between the lovey dovey moments, then that's it. Tutup buku. :-P

Anyway, can everyone just accept the fact that I’m now single and I’m happy with it?
Proof? Setiap bulan aku topup Rp20000 (RM8) je sekarang ni.
Hah! How about that ha?
Kagum tak?

For most of the times, I can assure you that I'm happy with my life now. No silly dramas. No wasteful tears. No high hopes on anyone. No betrayal. No feelings of being trapped. No obligation!
But to be fair and to satisfy you, I have to admit that sometimes I would feel a bit lonely. A bit lah.. Justttt a lil bit. ;-)

My old friends who really know me would always say something like this to me.

“Alah Koyan, kenal sangat ko. Ko tu kejap je single, nanti tiba2 dah ada orang lain. Aku bet ko tak lame la single.”

Pessimistic sungguh! Hey I know lah I've never been a loyal ‘single club’ member since sekolah. But now I really am exhausted, just let me take a break ok. I never planned to stay single forever pun. You guys don’t have to worry lah cause the truth is…

I am already in love…

with somebody.

He's my biggest crush.

I have always loved him!

And he’s not just a stupid teenage crush..

Cause I’m sure that he is the one!

But too bad that he hasn’t yet realized what I have always realized;

that we would be great together.

that we are soulmates.

Nevermind... I'll wait.. I'd wait for life for a guy like him.

Sob sob~~

He’s Gerard Butler.

Gotcha!

Turning Point

She’s amazingly had enough of the stupid game.

She’s exasperated, playing with her own emotions.

She decides to seal her heart as securely as she can to protect what’s inside from being hurt.

No more useless hopes, dreams and expectations on anybody.

No more hatred, rage and resentment.

She forgave them, as much as she forgave herself.

It’s a turning point of her life.

She determines this time will be different.

As she promised herself that this time, there will be no turning back.

For yesterday is but a dream,
And tomorrow is only a vision:
But today well lived,
Makes every yesterday a dream of happiness,
And every tomorrow a vision of hope.

Look well, therefore, to this day.

KUALA LUMPUR: Many Malaysian medical students overseas who take examinations in a foreign language suffer from depression when they return.
Physicians for Peace and Social Responsibility (PPSR) vice-president Datuk Dr Abdul Hamid Abdul Kadir said that large numbers of young Malaysians were being trained in foreign medical schools in Indonesia, Russia, India, Poland, Britain and the Republic of Ireland.
At a forum on Saturday organised by the PPSR, it was highlighted that at least five such houseman are found to suffer from mental illnesses every month.
“These countries have varied systems of medical training and different types of patient care, based on the emphasis of the country. As a result, many of the students who go there undergo a culture shock,” said Dr Abdul Hamid.
“Coming from different universities, backgrounds and experiences, they have difficulty relating and working, especially the weaker students,” he said, adding that there had been a sudden sprouting of many public and private medical schools.
While the schools have increased, however, the number of teaching hospitals have not.
Dr Abdul Hamid said that although there was an increasing demand for doctors, the standards and quality of patient care should not be compromised.

“These are the major concerns which the country’s healthcare and medical educational planners have to constantly bear in mind so that the value systems governing the training of our doctors are never lost sight of in the short term and the long term.”

Yeah.. Please be careful in choosing your doctors. They might have bigger health problems than you. I have to admit that the news is true. Here in Surabaya I know a few people who really have the talents to suffer from a mental health problems. But not including the two girls below. They are absolutely in an awesome condition of mental health..although..as you can see..they are doing..things like...err...

...trying to act cool like Charlie's Angels.kami tak gila

...wanted the ability to read minds like Parkman so she could hear in her head the best student's answers during exams, and wanted to fly like Nathan Petrelli so she could fly back to Malaysia anytime she wants.

nathan petrelli n parkman lah konon2nye

..thought that medical course is a bad idea and they should become rempit instead. vrooom vrooom!!

IMG_1426

..trying to act like bimbos who are fighting over a skinny, hideous, stinky Mat rempit.

IMG_1428

But I can assure you that they both are completely normal. Studies have shown that geeks are more prone to suffer mental illness, due to their inability to handle depression. And these two girls are no way near the definition of 'geeks'. They're absolutely safe. So don't hesitate to see them one day if you need any medical advice. *wink wink*

Insensitive

Last night I had an argument with a girl friend of mine. We at last managed to solve our problem but what she said to me just rang me a bell about other stuff.

“Irah, sometimes I rasa I tak paham you, dunno how to handle situation. Nak cakap takut salah, diam plak nanti kata tak kisah. So how?
Just don’t expect me to know what you’re thinking cause I can’t read minds.”

I had the exactly same arguments before this, but with boys! And every time they said something like this to me, I have always gave this defensive feedback to them.

“Hey, if you can’t understand me, then good luck with other girls! All girls are just like me ok! We are all the same.”

Oopss. So now I know that I was wrong. My friend just proved to me that not all girls are the same.

But I wasn’t totally wrong. I’m still sure that I am the majority! I mean, come on girls. We all do quietly assume that men will know what we want or need, right girls? Indirect speech is our specialty. We love to give hints and beat around the bush when we want something from a man. And if they don’t pick up our signals, that is when we get to accuse them of being INSENSITIVE right? And that’s when the arguments like above took place. That’s when the men start to shout, “Get to the point please!” or “Am I supposed to be a mind reader??” or “Dahlah, I give up. What the hell do you actually want?”

We do that all the time right? Or is it only me, who’s been an expert in assuming? Naah. I’m sure most of us the girls are like that. Ignore my friend, she’s a special case. :-P

So to all man out there, you might want to train yourself to improve your awareness to our verbal or body language signals. ;-P Don’t be upset. You guys just need to listen to us, effectively. Just listen, and don’t ever try to offer solution unless if she ask for it. Like how Orson Hodge handled Bree in Desperate Housewives. And chocolates never failed to help! And,.. go watch Desperate Housewives! It’s definitely not a bad idea. :-P

And girls, don’t be too harsh on them. Let them learn slowly. Yeah I know. They can be extremely slow sometimes. :-P And they are so direct. So it’s better if you can tell them once in advance how you want them to handle you when you’re stressed.

Yeah. Now that sounds fair and square.

Sisterhood

Ayah nampak gelisah. Sekejap berdiri, sekejap duduk. Aku tengok je ayah, Masa tu dia pakai kopiah, baju melayu putih dengan kain pelikat. Suasana kat hospital sibuk malam tu. Tapi aku diam je. Ayah suruh duduk diam-diam, doakan mak. Dalam hati aku berdebar-debar nak tengok ‘adik baru’.

Kami tunggu dari pukul 7 malam. Pukul 10 baru nurse panggil masuk wad. Gembira hati aku, mak selamat lahirkan baby girl. Aku masuk tengok mak. “Mak, kenapa muka mak merah sangat!”. Mak tak layan aku. Tengah sakit lagi agaknya. Mesti sakit gile kan. Lepas tu aku tengok baby girl sebelah katil mak. Tak bukak mata lagi. Ke dia tidur? Eh. Mata macam sepet je. Tapi comel.

Yeay!

Sebab aku pun kecik jugak masa tu. Dik Wan pulak awal-awal asyik meragam, sebab baby girl ni rampas title bongsu dia yang dia dah pertahankan selama 5tahun.

Kak Na (kakak sulung aku) yang banyak jaga dia. Kak Na tatang dia bagai minyak yang penuh. Aku boleh usap-usap kepala dia je. Pernah sekali aku mintak jugak nak dukung dia. Kak Na kata tak boleh, tapi last2 Kak Na letak atas riba aku. Dengan agak janggal aku usap-usap kepala dia. Dia tak respon apa-apa. Blur. Tapi tiba-tiba macam bau busuk je. Kak Na angkat dari riba aku. Rupa-rupanya dia berak. Berak hijau pulak tu. Cis. Kemelampauan. Duduk atas riba aku je terus berak hijau. Tak suka aku agaknya.

Ya, memang dia sangat sayang Kak Na dari kecik. Masa dia dah mula belajar bercakap, aku dengan Kak Mia selalu tanya dia, “Dik Ma, kakak yang Dik Ma paling sayang sape?” Terus dia jawab, “Kak Na!”.

Siasat punya siasat rupa-rupanya ada budak nakal gigit pipi dia. Dikwan dah geram sangat agaknya.

Masa aku masuk STF, dia baru masuk sekolah tadika. Lepas tu aku dah tak sedar, tengok2 dah besar. Tapi dia tetap seorang kanak-kanak riang masa tu. Biasalah, anak bongsu. Terimalah nasib. Kena suruh gi kedai, tolong ambilkan tu ambilkan ni.

Pernah sekali aku naik basikal dengan dia. Aku suruh dia duk depan. Pastu tiba-tiba aku nampak ada abang hensem duk lepak-lepak dekat pondok hujung jalan rumah aku. Aku cuba kontrol cun, kontrol ayu, tah macam mana jatuh terjelepok dengan adik aku sekali. Aku terkejut tengok kaki dia berdarah banyak gila. Kaki dia tersepit kat rim tayar basikal. Cepat-cepat aku dukung dia bawak lari rumah. Yang pelik dia tak nangis mana pun. Sempat lagi aku bisik kat dia, “Jangan bagitau mak Kak Irah yang buat ni”.

Selfish ke aku? Takut woo kena cubitan mak.

Lepas tu, dia membesar lagi, masuk sekolah menengah. Aku dulu struggle jugak nak cari identiti aku masa form 1. Salah pilih kawan, habislah masa depan.

Hobi aku adalah suka menasihati adik-adik aku, walaupun aku sedar aku tak sempurna. Aku pun banyak buruknya. Tapi aku nak diorang jadi baik, nak kitorang sama2 jadi baik. Biar mak ayah tak susah hati. They deserve to be happy.
Dari kecik Dik Wan dah dengar ceramah dari aku pasal neraka. Sebab dia nakal sangat. Konon bagus la aku ni. Kecik-kecik dah kasik ceramah pasal neraka. Tapi Dik Wan dengar je, lepas tu pergi sekolah selak kain perempuan lagi.

Bila aku dah keluar dari alam sekolah, dah agak berpengalaman dalam hidup ni, sekurang-kurangnya lebih berpengalaman dari adik bongsu aku kot, aku pun cubalah nasihat dia jugak. Bukan nasihat, sekadar bagitau tentang pengalaman-pengalaman zaman silam aku.

“Dik Ma, kalau nak ade pakwe masa sekolah, silakan. Tapi jangan cinta gila-gila. Tak sampai kemananya. Masuk universiti banyak lagi pilihan lain. Boleh bercinta, tapi jangan berkorban sangat untuk dia. Jangan sampai angau tak belajar. Sebab Kak Irah pernah alami tu semua.”

“Dik Ma, berkawan tak salah. Tapi pandai2 pilih kawan. Benda tak elok jangan diikut. Nanti one day kawan tinggalkan kita jugak.”

“Dik Ma, belajar elok2. SPM is not ‘nohing’. For your future sake, please study from now and do your best in SPM.”

“Ma, jangan jadi lesbian. Kalau tak, Kak Irah sula Ma hidup2. Laki lagi best ok. Man rocks! Wuhuu! (Exaggerating)” Ye, inilah antara pesanan ikhlas dari seorang kakak yang paranoid sebab pernah sekolah semua perempuan. I know she wouldn’t wanna be one of them. Hope dia pun grow up and jadi gatal cam aku. Hehe.

Kawan memang teman kita membesar, tempat berkongsi perasaan, berkongsi rahsia, menjadi cermin identiti kita, tempat kita melalui proses mengenal jenis-jenis manusia kat dunia ni.

Kalau aku sakit. Sure, friends will come and visit. Mungkin akan stay with me for one or two hour. Tapi ada ke kawan who will not leave? Who will watch out for you the whole time? Ada ke?

As for family, they won’t leave you. Trust me.
Sisters will never leave you. They will be there for you whenever you need them.
They are the ones who will replace your mother when she’s not around.
Don’t lose hope with your sisters.

Being selfish to you, is the last thing I would wanna be.
But to others than family, I might’ve been selfish sometimes. Because my life has taught me that I have to be selfish to protect myself from being hurt. That I have to love myself more than others. That I have to be independent, to be happy for who I am, and those who can’t stand seeing me happy can go fuck themselves.

Only God knows how truly I care for you cause I love you sis, and I pray for the best for you.

You Can't Always Get What You Want

I woke up at 3 a.m. this morning, so early that everyone else might still dead to the world. I took a bath longer than usual, did some facial thingy, had prayer and was ready to start a new day. I was planning to study since the exam is just around the corner, and I have been extremely lazy throughout this semester.

With all the positive energy around me, I sat on my chair and started to open some notes. I was even astonished to find myself smiling. I was really in a good mood. And that was the rare type of mood I could have, until suddenly I saw water dripping from the air conditioner of my room and it fell right onto my printer that I placed on the bookshelf below the aircond. I wasn’t sure how long it has happened. But then here I am, writing to you bloggie, who recently has been a very good listener to me.

Oh, haven’t I told you that my 3.5G broadband modem that had me paid a disgusting amount of money to buy it, suddenly stopped functioning? It is still under the year of warranty so last week I brought it back to the shop that I bought it, but until today, I still don’t get it back. Why did I even buy that modem in the first place? Cause I’m now living in a place where the options of Internet services are very limited and slowly developed. So I had to buy it.

Since my internet modem is broken, of course I couldn’t immediately tell you the story about the broken water pump of my house! It happened last week, and a few times before last week. I don’t actually understand the water system here. Only the houses that have water pump could get the water supply for 24/7. The previous house I rented didn’t have it, and then I moved to this house, which fortunately has the water pump, but ironically it’s always broken and still operates ineffectively. I had already changed the thing they call ‘otomatis’ twice. What I know is that I don’t have to deal with all this kind of stuff in Malaysia.

Oh great. My extension plug has also just given up on me. I feel numb. This is just minor compared to the story when my scooter was out of fuel and I had to ‘sorong’ it with Aliaa to the nearest fuel station. And no one helped us at that time. Tak cukup jambu kot kitorang ni.

I also still remember when Aliaa and I had to go renew some stupid documents at the immigration office that is quite far away from my place. At that time I was still sloppy at riding a scooter, (FYI I never ride a motorcycle in Malaysia) but confidently decided to use a shortcut path that was full of mud since it was in a raining season. And tadaaa! We fell down from the scooter because the road was too slippery and sticky with mud and I couldn’t stabilize my bike and myself. Aliaa had her crocs covered by mud, I got my yellow Nike became chocolaty. Yummy! :-P

Ah ha! I suppose you haven’t heard the story about the mold on the wall of my house here. I had to move to this new house because the mold in my previous house was too bad. I had to paint the wall over and over again but the scary mold still came out of the wall. It attacked my study desk and my wardrobe until I had to get a new one. And what surprised me more is when I found out that the mold was not ready to be left by me just yet. It follows me to this house too! It attacked my new wardrobe, luckilly not as bad as before.

Today I went to the hospital as usual, seeing people of various walks of life. And I was wondering, do they counter the same shit as mine in everyday of their lives?
I saw an old man cried to his wife and daughter before he entered the operation room.
I could hardly bear my eyes to see a boy who had his face and legs bandaged and looked so horribly sick.
I looked at the hospital meal that smells disgusting.
And I spoke to a mother who delivered her baby three days ago but yet not allowed to see, touch or breastfeed her baby plainly for the reason her husband hasn’t got enough money yet to pay the hospital bills.
Yes, they all have been in a lot of trouble than me. A way lot of trouble. I am grateful. I don’t always get what I want. But most of the times I still get what I need. Alhamdulillah.

And then I saw a girl, who wore cheap wedges and trashy skinny jeans, with a fake D&G handbag hung over her shoulder, smiled with her hidung kembang kempis like all eyes were on her, playing with her hair like it has all kinds of kutu beneath it, approached her friends and tell them about her so called problems with her annoying whiny voice “Awh guys!~ There's only 400bucks left in my purse! How am I going to survive til the end of this week? I’ve got to call my daddy immediately!~ Awh, I’m in big trouble!” (Truthfully, I’m not so good in mimicking himbos(hideous+bodoh girls) =P)

Deep down, I’m just thankful to God that I’m not in this category either. ;-P
